The Git commit dialog is slightly broken in the latest release, 2.0-rc.22. In the table view showing all change or untraced files it says “Button” on each line between the checkbox and the icon. I’ve attached a screen shot below. This occurs on macOS High Sierra but now on Mojave.

What about the checkbox used for Find in Folder results, does that also
show “Button”?

I switched to using Apple’s convenience constructor for checkboxes,
which I assume is the reason for this, despite setting an empty string
as label.

Yes. It shows half a “B” and “ut”. I’m guessing the column is too small to show the whole word.
